Southeast Alberta, including Vulcan County and parts of Foothills County, are currently under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.
Conditions are favourable for severe thunderstorms to develop, which could be capable of producing strong wind gusts this afternoon and evening.
This Watch includes Foothills County near Blackie, Siksika Nation, and Vulcan County near Arrowwood Herronton and Queenstown, Vulcan, Ensign, Champion, Milo, and more.
Due to the weather, driving conditions may become difficult, and strong wind gusts could damage trees, buildings, and overturn vehicles.
Environment and Climate Change Canada is reminding people to go indoors when thunder roars, because lighting kills and injures Canadians every year.
This Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued, because conditions are favourable to develop thunderstorms that are capable of producing damaging rain, wind, or hail.
