The Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) hit the road this past week, hosting a series of June Division Meetings in all six of its provincial divisions.

Between June 16 to 19, the meetings took place in Langham, North Battleford, Moose Jaw, Swift Current, Kipling and Kelvington. Each session featured presentations and updates relevant to local governance, rural issues, and municipal responsibilities.

Topics on the agenda ranged from advocacy updates and road maintenance agreements to rural healthcare and subdivision regulations. The SEEDS Training Program, which focuses on emergency preparedness and disaster support, will also be highlighted at several meetings.

SARM President Ray Orb said the June meetings offer a vital opportunity for local officials to hear updates and ask questions about emerging issues.

“These meetings allow us to connect directly with our rural members, share information, and listen to the concerns that matter most in each region,” Orb said.

Meeting locations included community halls, town centres and recreation complexes in each host community. SARM encouraged representatives from rural municipalities across the province to attend the division meeting in their area, those agendas available online at sarm.ca/events/division-meetings.

  • Division 1: Kipling – June 18, 9 to 11:30 a.m.

  • Division 2: Moose Jaw – June 17, 9 to 11:30 a.m.
