RCMP responded to a range of calls for service in Wilkie between June 10 and 16, including a break and enter, a sexual assault investigation, and impaired driving charges.
Officers were called to Wilkie Memorial Park for a report of an individual sleeping in the area. Members spoke to the subject of the complaint, and no further action was required.
Police are investigating a reported break and enter at a residence. That investigation is ongoing.
RCMP also attended a report of a large backyard fire. By the time officers arrived, the fire had already been extinguished.
A 40-year-old Unity man faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and flight from a peace officer following a traffic stop. The driver was also issued a ticket under the Tobacco Tax Act.
An egging incident at a residence was reported, but police say there was not enough evidence to proceed. Similarly, complaints of criminal harassment and disturbing the peace did not result in charges due to insufficient evidence.
A report of a suspicious individual at a local business was also received. However, the subject had left before police arrived.
RCMP say they are actively investigating a complaint of sexual assault. No further details have been released.
CN Police reported a vehicle parked too close to the railway tracks. RCMP were unable to attend due to a priority call, but CN Police confirmed the vehicle left the area without issue.
There was also one traffic complaint reported during the week.
