After a pair of losses to start the Fertile Valley Baseball League season, the Rosetown Angels are on a three-game win streak, putting it on the line Wednesday night at home against the undefeated Oyen Eagles at 7:00 PM behind the rink.
Rosetown started the season with a high-scoring 17-11 loss to the Kindersley Cubs, before heading to Oyen to face the defending champion Eagles where they fell 13-2. A short break for the team flipped the calendar to June, and since that point the Angels have been as hot as can be with a pair of wins over the Eatonia Wheat Kings 12-3 and 14-4, their most recent win coming against the Kindersley Stallions in another dominating effort 12-1.
Looking outside of FVBL play, a few more local teams are in action tonight in the Coteau Hills Baseball League, and Battle River Baseball League. The CHBL sees first place Beechy travelling to Riverhurst for a 6:30 start, while over in the BRBL, the Macklin Lakers are crossing the provincial border to face Amisk at 7:00.
The North Saskatchewan River Baseball League is completely idle tonight after two games on Tuesday, including the Unity Cardinals defeating the Glaslyn Orioles 10-0. Playing from their temporary home in Wilkie, the Cards will be right back in action Thursday when the North Battleford Beavers visit Wilkie for a battle between 9-1 teams.
