The Eagle 100.9 and Sheep River Health Trust's annual Together We Make a Difference Radiothon is back to support nine local health and wellness programs and initiatives.

The 12th annual Together We Make a Difference event returns today (June 19) to support local health and wellness initiatives through the Sheep River Health Trust.

From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., The Eagle 100.9 and the Sheep River Health Trust will be collecting donations to support nine Foothills-area health services, programs and initiatives.

This year's recipients are:

  • Helping Families Handle Cancer - Care Program

  • Foothills Family Medical Centre - 2 Portable Blood Pressure Machines/2 Liquid Nitrogen Guns

  • Solace Grief Support Society - Grief Counselling for all ages

  • It Takes a Village Okotoks Community Foundation - Baby Home Safe

  • KidSport Okotoks - Support for Child Sport Registrations

  • Orenda Community Youth and Family Society - Curriculum for Social-Emotional and Mental Well-being

  • Sheep River Health Trust - Spiritual Care Program, School Breakfast Program, Music Therapy Program for the Adult Day Support Program

There are two locations where in-person donations can be made.

The first is the Radiothon’s broadcast hub at the Okotoks Health and Wellness Centre (11 Cimarron Common), from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Food trucks and donation prizes will be available throughout the event.

Donations can also be made at RONA in Diamond Valley (601 1st Ave. N.E., Black Diamond) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A barbecue lunch will be available for $5, along with donation prizes.
