A group of Elrose Composite School students recently traded places with select students from St. Mary's Catholic Academy in Toronto, Ontario.

The Sun West School Division shared the story in a release earlier this week. The exchange took place earlier this spring, providing a chance to "bridge the gap between Saskatchewan and Ontario" using shared experiences from another culture.

For Elrose students, not only did they get to experience the beautiful big city atmosphere and vibrant cultural landscape Toronto, but they managed to witness iconic attractions such as the CN Tower, Niagara Falls, and even catch a Toronto Blue Jays game.

The students from Ontario were treated to a Saskatchewan Roughriders game to match the Jays experience and were given the prairie opportunity of a lifetime carrying out the flag. Outside of that students were 'warmly welcomed and immersed in prairie life" according to the Sun West release, touring local farms and other locations showcasing the agricultural heart of the province.

The positive experience is one that won't soon be forgotten.

"The exchange fostered new friendships and a deeper appreciation for the diversity within Canada, leaving lasting memories for all involved." finished the Sun West release.

The students in Elrose left for Ontario on Sunday, May 25 and spent the week in Toronto.
