9-year-old Thompson girl robbed

A 22-year-old female has been remanded in custody after robbing a 9-year-old girl in Thompson on Wednesday afternoon. 

At 4 p.m. on June 18, Thompson RCMP were advised that an adult female had asked the 9-year-old for the bag of food she was carrying while on her bicycle. 

A bystander witnessed the incident and chased the suspect away before bringing the child to safety. 

Both the witness and victim provided an accurate description of the suspect to police. Officers located the suspect and arrested her. 

The 22-year-old has been charged with two counts of Robbery, Resisting Arrest and Causing a Disturbance.

The 9-year-old did sustain minor injuries but did not require medical attention. 

Thompson RCMP continue to investigate.
