It was a beautiful day for the 12th annual Together We Make a Difference Radiothon, in support of local health and wellness programs and initiatives.

The Eagle 100.9, in partnership with the Sheep River Health Trust, collected donations on Thursday (June 19).

This year's recipients include:

  • Helping Families Handle Cancer - Care Program

  • Foothills Family Medical Centre - 2 Portable Blood Pressure Machines/2 Liquid Nitrogen Guns

  • Solace Grief Support Society - Grief Counselling for all ages

  • It Takes a Village Okotoks Community Foundation - Baby Home Safe

  • KidSport Okotoks - Support for Child Sport Registrations

  • Orenda Community Youth and Family Society - Curriculum for Social-Emotional and Mental Well-being

  • Sheep River Health Trust - Spiritual Care Program, School Breakfast Program, Music Therapy Program for the Adult Day Support Program

Throughout the day, Foothills residents shared stories on how the programs had impacted their lives personally.

Donations were collected at the Radiothon’s broadcast hub at the Okotoks Health and Wellness Centre.

Food trucks were on site, and donation prizes were available throughout the event.

Foothills residents could also stop by RONA in Diamond Valley, where a barbecue lunch was available, along with more donation prizes.

Without the support of the community, sponsors, and donors, the radiothon wouldn’t have been possible.
