Kerrobert Composite School (KCS) has been recognized by the Public Schools of Saskatchewan for its commitment to student citizenship, earning one of just three province-wide awards given to high schools this year.

The award, presented at the school’s annual awards ceremony on Tuesday, celebrates initiatives that help students understand and demonstrate good citizenship, strong character, and meaningful community involvement.

KCS was selected for its work through the Volunteer Club, a student-led initiative that gives youth in Grades 7 to 12 the opportunity to give back to the community through various service projects. Their winning video submission showcased the club’s efforts in areas such as hospital visits, community beautification and delivering Meals on Wheels.

As part of the honour, KCS received a $1,000 prize for the school. The award was presented by Bailey Kemery, Subdivision 6 representative with the Saskatchewan School Boards Association, on behalf of the Public Schools of Saskatchewan.

The school's video submission is featured on the Public Schools of Saskatchewan website and social media channels.

Kerrobert Composite was one of only three high schools across Saskatchewan selected for the award.
