What started as a small family endeavour has blossomed into a thriving storage business near the number 4 highway and railway crossing. For the folks behind Cheep Storage, it’s about more than just storing belongings – it’s about helping people find peace of mind.

A humble beginning

“The business started from an empty lot with no idea what to do with it,” says Daisy Dyck, who runs the facility together with her family. “We were already using it for our own storage, so we figured we’d try to see if anyone else would like to use it too.”

Since those early days, demand has grown steadily. “We realized more people needed it, so we kept buying units and now here we are,” she shares with a smile.

More than just storage

The family-run operation boasts over 50 storage units, including 20-foot and 40-foot units, as well as outdoor storage spaces known locally as “storage closets.” With a commitment to security and cleanliness, they ensure that every customer’s needs are met with a friendly, local touch.

“We try to deal with our customers face-to-face so that it feels very personal,” Dyck explains. “We understand the value of community and we want to make sure everyone feels welcome and secure.”

Who needs Cheep Storage?

The clientele is as varied as the units themselves. “Our average customer is someone who wants to store their vintage car over the winter,” she says. “They don’t want rats or mice, and they want to protect their belongings from the elements.”

Beyond winter car storage, the facility sees people in the midst of moves, those looking to declutter for a few months, and even folks needing a quick solution for just a month or two. “It can really vary,” she notes. “We see a lot of different people.”

A family of hoarders, helping others

Dyck shares a lighthearted insight into their personal connection to the business. “We do storage because we are a family of hoarders,” she laughs. “We have troubles with clutter and we understand the need to have a place to put it for peace of mind.”

And it’s that understanding that shapes their customer service. “We know that sometimes you can really help somebody out just by giving them an extra month to put something,” the operator says. “Then they can move it and organize their life.”

With a location that’s easy to find and a team that treats you like family, this storage facility is more than just a place to put your stuff – it’s a local gem, built on trust and community spirit. To learn more, visit their website at www.cheepstorage.net.
