Despite the rain this weekend, the Okotoks Dawgs were still able to get in a game.
Their game against the Brooks Bombers on Friday, June 20, and their games against the Lethbridge Bulls on Saturday, June 21 were affected by the weather, but they were still able to take on the Bulls on Sunday.
Not only were the Bulls able to get four runs in the sixth inning, but they were able to keep the Dawgs scoreless through the first six innings, before the Dawgs were able to get a pair of runs.
In the ninth inning, the Bulls were able to pad out their score a bit, as the Dawgs made a push in the bottom of the ninth, but were unable to produce.
Even though the Dawgs lost 7 to 2, Seth Gurr had a solid start to the game, as he went 5 innings while only allowing two runs and striking out six Bulls.
Gurr was able to keep the Bulls at bay early in the game, limiting their runs, until the Bulls' offense came alive.
Barry Eisemen was able to get on base twice in the game, and Steven Elsner recorded an RBI while going 1 for 3 in the game.
The Dawgs will be down in Brooks on Tuesday, June 24, to take on the Bombers, and then will head back home to take on the Bombers again at Seaman Stadium on Wednesday, to make up for the game that got postponed due to the rain.
They then head down to Lethbridge to take on the Bulls on Thursday.
