Calling it "Super Friday", six teams will open their season on September 19. On the following day September 20 five more home openers will see a rematch from the night before to complete a home and home, leaving the Nipawin Hawks out of the fun as they won't start action from the Cage until September 26 against Flin Flon.
Other notable home openers on September 19 include Kerrobert’s Austin Shepherd and the two-time defending champion Melfort Mustangs hosting Nipawin to kick off their season. The Warman Wolverines will make history that night, playing their first-ever home game in a divisional matchup against Humboldt.
In the north, the Flin Flon Bombers and La Ronge Ice Wolves begin what promises to be an emotional opening series, as both communities continue to recover from spring wildfires. Looking south two more home-and-home series also get underway September 19, with Melville hosting Estevan, and Weyburn welcoming Yorkton.
