Emergency crews were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision early Wednesday morning on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Portage la Prairie, near the Simplot plant.

The crash happens around 6:30 a.m. in the eastbound lane and appears to involve a pick-up truck and an SUV.

When responders arrived, the SUV was on its side with the front windshield smashed out. The pick-up truck shows what looks like minor damage.

An ambulance is on scene, though there is no official word yet on injuries or what led to the crash.

More details will be shared as they become available.
