Murray Tweddell
1957 - 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father Murray Robert Tweddell on June 20, 2025 at the age of 68 years old.
Murray was born January 20, 1957 in Erickson, Manitoba then the family moved to Portage la Prairie. Murray attended school at the following schools: North Memorial until grade 6, Prince Charles for 7-8, then remaining years at Arthur Meighen.
Murray got his Power Engineering and he worked at several different places over the years - MDC, offices as cleaner, Smith Motors Auto, school division where he went to Fort la Reine as day custodian. That was his ultimate job and loved it.
Murray loved to read a lot, couldn't get enough of it. He was very good with trivia you asked him anything and it took a few minutes and he would tell you the answer. Murray loved his music especially when it was April Wine.
Murray loved history (World Wars 1 & 2), as well as anything about the Titanic. His favourite television shows Adam 12, Corner Gas, MASH, Friends, Wings and Flashpoint to name just a few.
Murray was loved by friends, co-workers and most of all family. All the kids at Fort la Reine School called Murray “Mr. T”.
Murray met a woman, corresponded with her over the phone, and the internet, she flew out twice to meet and see him. Over time they fell head over heels for each other and Susan moved out West to be with Murray to begin their lives together. Murray and Susan were married on May 31, 2008, and they just celebrated 17 years together.
Murray leaves in mourning his wife Susan, sister Terry Tweddell, children - son Colby Tweddell, daughter Kendal Tweddell (Dan) step daughter Sarah Lauder (Doug), step- grandchildren DJ, Johnathon, Christopher, and Tony. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Brodie. Murray was predeceased by his parents Robert Wilson Tweddell and Mary Marjorie Ann Nelson (nee Whiting).
In keeping with Murray’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.
In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3 or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 310 Broadway #200, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
