The town of Didsbury has provided a crucial update when it comes to having the Didsbury Memorial Complex ready for the hockey season.
Rhonda Hunter, mayor of Didsbury, explained that the new adiabatic condenser arrived on Tuesday.
"We brought in a crane to lift it right up onto the platform. Our contractors were on site to start work on getting it operational, so it was an exciting day."
"After that disappointment, this new one arrived on time and is anticipated to be installed and become operational on schedule."
The ammonia leak required the immediate removal of ice and forced user groups to cancel games and practices at the arena and curling rink. Local teams and skaters were left scrambling to find alternative venues.
Hunter explained she is excited to see local hockey players return to their home ice.
"I'm sure all of our user groups and skaters are very excited to know that their hockey season will resume on their home ice this year in the Didsbury Memorial Complex Arena."
She concluded by thanking all those who were affected last year when the complex had to shut down the hockey rink and curling rink.
