A 53-year-old man has been charged with five counts of robbery after robbing five convenience stores over four hours.
Between 12:45 a.m. and 4:47 a.m. on Wednesday, the suspect drove to several convenience stores and demanded money from the cash registers while either armed with a knife or implying he had a weapon.
In each incident, he left with an undisclosed amount of cash, and in one case, a cordless phone.
The stores were located in the 900 block of Lorette Avenue, the 800 block of Cavalier Drive, the 3000 block of Ness Avenue, the 400 block of Academy and the 1400 block of Pembina Highway.
At around 4:47 a.m., officers spotted the suspect's vehicle in the 100 block of Kirkbridge Drive. They were able to stop it and arrest the man.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incidents.
The suspect remains in custody.
