Two Winnipeggers will soon be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in November.

Three-time Stanley Cup winner, Duncan Keith, along with gold medal Olympian, Jennifer Botterill are two of the eight in the 2025 induction class.

"Wow! Thank you for this incredible honour!" Botterill said on social media. "Thank you to the Hockey Hall of Fame and the HHOF selection committee. I am filled with gratitude! From the moment I received the call yesterday to the kind messages and warm congratulations that have followed, I’ve been truly overwhelmed by the love and support."

"The ultimate joy was being surrounded by all of you throughout my journey," she continued.

Botterill's collegiate hockey career started in 1998 with the Harvard Crimson women's ice hockey program until 2003.

She was also a part of the Mississauga Chiefs and Toronto Furies of the Canadian Women's Hockey League from 2003 until her retirement in 2011.

Winnipeg-born Duncan Keith spent 17 seasons in the National Hockey League, the majority with the Chicago Blackhawks before wrapping up his NHL career with the Edmonton Oilers for one season.

"On behalf of the Chicago Blackhawks organization, I'd like to congratulate Duncan on being named to the Hockey Hall of Fame class of 2025," Danny Wirtz, Chairman and CEO of the Chicago Blackhawks, said on social media. "Duncan defined the modern archetype for a complete defenseman."

He continued on to say, "His opponents feared his shutdown defence as much as they respected his offensive prowess. He played with grit and heart, giving his all every second he was on the ice."

"We're thrilled to see his legacy now celebrated on hockey's biggest stage as he takes his well-deserved place among the game's all-time greats," Wirtz said.

Keith finished his NHL career playing 1,256 regular-season games and recording 646 points.

The 2025 Hockey Hall of Fame Induction ceremony spans three days from Saturday, November 8 through Monday, November 10, 2025 in Toronto, Ont.
