Traffic on the stretch of 13th Avenue NW between Grace and Montgomery Street will result in the alternating closure of four intersections and impact transit routes for much of July.

From Wednesday, July 2 to July 8, the Montgomery, Albert, and Carleton Street intersections along 13th Avenue will be closed, with only local, southbound traffic being permitted through the Grace Street intersection.

Moose Jaw Transit's Route 3 - Atha West-Thatcher will also have bus stop closures on 13th Avenue NW and Carleton Street and Caribou Street W and 13th Avenue NW during this same time period. Signs denoting the closest alternative bus stops will be posted at the impacted bus stops.

The second round of the project will run from July 9 to July 20, weather permitting, also along 13th Avenue NW from Grace to Montgomery Street, albeit with different restrictions to the intersections.

The Montgomery Street intersection will remain open, traffic on Albert Street can proceed without through traffic onto 13th Avenue NW, the Carleton Street intersection will be open south and east traffic, and finally the Grace Street intersection will be open to all but southbound traffic.

Later in the summer further roadwork is expected on the same stretch of 13th Avenue NW, including milling, paving, and isolated deep road repairs.

The full scope of the project has been outlined in the Paved Roadways and Sidewalks project section on the Engineering Services Capital Projects page on the city's website.
