Students heading to post-secondary institutions this fall can now apply for Saskatchewan Student Aid. The online application assesses eligibility for a range of provincial and federal support, including loans, grants, scholarships, bursaries, and loan forgiveness programs.

“The Saskatchewan Student Aid Fund helps students access post-secondary education from their first year through to joining Saskatchewan’s workforce,” said Advanced Education Minister Ken Cheveldayoff. “The Government of Saskatchewan remains committed to investing in financial support to enable students to complete their post-secondary education and build rewarding lives and careers in Saskatchewan.”

For the 2025-26 academic year, the province will provide $46.5 million in direct financial support to more than 24,000 students. This includes $34.4 million in loans and grants, and $12.1 million in scholarships and bursaries.

Students may be eligible for up to $5,850 in non-repayable funding through a combination of Canada and Saskatchewan Student Grants and the Saskatchewan Advantage Scholarship. Additional support is available for lower-income students with dependents.

The Saskatchewan Student Grant for Students with dependents offers up to $950 per child per year for those who qualify.

“Accessing financial aid made a huge difference in my education journey,” said Sky Southwind, a 2025 Business Diploma graduate. “The support lifted a huge weight off my shoulders and motivated me to show up, work hard, and overcome challenges.”

Graduates who stay and work in Saskatchewan may also benefit from the newly expanded Graduate Retention Program, which provides up to $24,000 in tax credits. More than 85,000 graduates have benefitted from the program since its launch in 2008.
