On June 19, 2025, Grande Prairie RCMP Rural General Investigation Section (GIS) observed a stolen vehicle in the Clairmont, Alta., area. The vehicle then made its way to Grande Prairie where a traffic stop was conducted by the Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) and all occupants were arrested. A search of the vehicle incidental to arrest revealed a loaded sawed-off shotgun with the safety off near a set of zipties.
As a result of the investigation, Christopher Lindgren (33) and Krista Healey (38), both of no fixed address, as well as Holly Breland (41), a resident of Grande Prairie, were charged with 5 firearm-related offences, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of unstamped tobacco. Furthermore, Lindgren and Healey were charged with 2 counts of failure to comply.
Lindgren and Healey were brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions while Breland was released from police custody on conditions. Lindgren and Healey are to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on July 14, 2025, while Breland appears before the same court on Aug. 13, 2025.
