A rotating slate of musicians took to the stage for the always anticipated jam session at the Manitou Beach Busking Festival on Saturday.

Storms circled the lake add various points throughout the weekend, but the sweet sounds of the Manitou Beach Busking Festival chased the clouds, and music lovers had a mostly beautiful weekend to enjoy all the talent.

Magician David Shields

Saturday at the beach saw the continuation of the multi venue performances by both emerging and established artists. The eclectic musical and performance styles meant there was something for everyone. Relative newcomers like Cylar Dunbar and his clever and whimsical lyrics mixed it up with Blues and rockabilly veterans Shuboy and the Chillbillies.

Humboldt's Yanna

A songwriting workshop with the Beach’s Bruce Rawling helped artists craft new material. Gena Lynch from Manitou Beach worked on refining her song alongside artist Rein, both of whom performed new material at the Saturday Jam Session, led by festival vet Barry McKay.

Oral Fuentes Reggae Band

Humboldt’s Yana brought her high energy to the mix, along with the resonant blues stylings of Bongo Bob. Tyler Penny is a beachside favourite, and David Shields kept audiences mystified with his magic. Saturday evening wrapped up with a high voltage show by the Oral Fuentes Reggae Band.
