Driver faces fine after crash at Highway 59 and Crown Valley Road

Everyone is OK, and a driver is facing a fine, following a crash at Highway 59 and Crown Valley Road.

On Friday around 4:30 p.m., RCMP say officers from the St. Pierre Jolys detachment responded to a collision between a jeep and commercial van at the intersection.

Police say an 18 year old woman, driving the jeep, was heading west on Crown Valley where she tried to cross highway 59. She was hit by the van, which was travelling north.

RCMP say the 34-year-old man driving the van was assessed on the scene by paramedics and cleared, while the woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

She is facing a fine under the Highway Traffic Act, officers say.

St. Pierre RCMP and a traffic analyst are investigating.
