A now graduated Moose Jaw Cyclone football player is moving on to the next level of his football career.
Donovan Harkness will become a member of the Saskatoon Hilltops of the Canadian Junior Football League. Even though Harkness played running back for most of his high school stint with the Cyclones, he will be joining the team as a wide receiver.
"I'm a little bit raw as a receiver, but I've had a great coach so far, and he has been helping me a whole bunch along the way, so it's just about time and progression," said Harkness.
After committing to the Hilltops back in February, Harkness then officially signed with the team on June 1. In his rookie season, Harkness is hoping to bring his skills to the field and help the team in any way he can.
"I'm trying to bring some physicality and bring some leadership to the room. I want to make a name for myself early and show what I can do."
The season kicks off for the Saskatoon Hilltops on Sunday, August 10, in Winnipeg against the Rifles. To see highlights of Harkness during his graduating season with the Cyclones, CLICK HERE.
