One of Moose Jaw' biggest summer events, Kinsmen Sidewalk Days, kicks off tomorrow morning in Downtown Moose Jaw.
Main Street will be closed from Ross Street to Manitoba Street for vendors, entertainment, food trucks and more.
It all gets underway from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday. The festivities kick off again on Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and wraps up on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Executive director for Tourism Moose Jaw said their isn't a whole lot new with this year's Sidewalk Days.
“We have a brand-new committee and we’ve just gone with what has been done in the past,” Fritzke explained, noting she isn’t ready to make any changes in her first year on the job.
“We’re expecting more people this summer. We have so many Canadian that have said they’re staying home this year, they’re not going away. And then, we’re already finding out numbers are higher — we’ve had 500 more visitors to the Visitor’s Centre this past month than we did last year, and we’ve had so many Americans stopping in.”
Sidewalk Days will take up nine block of Main Street and will include 30 food vendors, 215 vendors in total and about 50 volunteers will be helping to make the event happen.
The Children's Village, sponsored by Moose Jaw Ford, will once again provide entertainment for the little ones including a roving magician, games, and bouncy castles. With temperatures expected to reach the 30s, you can also cool off at the Moose Jaw Co-op Chill Tent.
Déjà Vu Cafe's inflatable Duel Zone will onace again be making an appearance for older kids and adults to take part in gladiator-style game. Tourism Moose Jaw and the Downtown Moose Jaw Association are also partnering for to have a stall to sell clothing and other Moose Jaw-themed merchandise to promote the city.
Once again, stages will be set up for live entertainment and music. The popular Battle of the Bands will take place on Saturday afternoon.
The popular street festival was about 22,000 visitors attend Downtown Moose Jaw last year.
