A woman and young girl are dead following a tragic crash near St. Labre.
On Friday, before 1 p.m., Sprague RCMP were called to a two-vehicle collision on St. Labre Road.
According to an initial investigation, police say a truck was travelling southbound when a northbound minivan entered the southbound lane after a curve in the road.
The vehicles collided, and officer say the minivan ended up on its side in a small creek.
The 39-year-old woman driving the van and an 11-year-old girl were pronounced dead at the scene. A 10-year-old girl, also in the van, was taken to hospital with minor physical injuries.
RMCP say the 72-year-old man driving the truck was assessed by paramedics but did not require further medical attention.
Sprague RCMP, along with an RCMP forensic collision reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
