Kerrobert residents were asked to limit their water use on Tuesday, but thankfully all restrictions were lifted by 5:00 PM after a major water main was struck during construction on Columbia Avenue.

Originally shared at 8:45 AM on Tuesday, the Town of Kerrobert shared a notice stating the community had shifted to the water tower supply, the water restriction taking effect immediately after the damage. Residents were asked to only use 'essential' amounts of water, avoiding activities like watering lawns, running washing machines and other high-usage tasks.

Situations like this serve as a reminder that water conservation can be a smart tool for everyday life. It helps maintain pressure and supply for critical needs such as firefighting and healthcare; and getting through in a pinch like Tuesday.

Repairs got underway immediately, and after an eight-hour holiday Tuesday shift services were restored, and residents were alerted online and through social media.
