It was a magical Sunday for the Eastman Wildcats club as they won gold after the finals game was postponed a while back and also won a game to improve to 31-0.
The Wildcats trailed by as many as four, but came back to top U15 AAA Central Energy on Sunday at Rotary Diamond, 7-5.
Eastman Wildcats U15 AAA got on the board in the first inning after Émilie Carrière singled, scoring one run.
U15 AAA Central Energy flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 5-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Hailey Baldwin that drove in two.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Eastman Wildcats U15 AAA went back into the lead after U15 AAA Central Energy committed an error, Sophie Franklin tripled down the right field line, and Kaylie Tétrault grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.
Hannah Skrabek pitched five and one-third innings in relief for Eastman Wildcats U15 AAA. The right-handed pitcher surrendered seven hits and zero runs while, striking out six and walking one. Lola Kihn started in the circle for Eastman Wildcats U15 AAA. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and five runs (two earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking two. Blaine Wiebe started in the circle for U15 AAA Central Energy. The pitcher gave up two hits and two runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking two.
Tétrault drove the middle of the lineup, leading Eastman Wildcats U15 AAA with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Carrière went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Eastman Wildcats U15 AAA in hits. Sophie Remillard stole two bases.
Eastman also had a comeback win in game two bringing their record to 31-0.
Émilie Carrière With 3 Hits As Eastman Wildcats U15 AAA Beat U15 AAA Central Energy
Émilie Carrière collected three hits in four at bats, as Eastman Wildcats U15 AAA defeated U15 AAA Central Energy 8-5 on Tuesday at Friedensfeld Community Centre. Carrière singled in the fifth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning.
Eastman Wildcats U15 AAA didn't take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at five in the bottom of the sixth when Sophie Remillard singled, scoring three runs.
U15 AAA Central Energy got on the board in the first inning after a steal of home scored one run.
A single by Lola Kihn gave Eastman Wildcats U15 AAA the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the first.
U15 AAA Central Energy jumped back into the lead in the top of the third inning after Bree Pearce doubled to center field, Blaine Wiebe singled down the right field line, Zoey Shantz grounded out, and Wiebe scored after tagging up, each scoring one run.
Eastman Wildcats U15 AAA tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a single by Carrière, and a walk by Kaylie Tétrault.
