A special engine-building competition is coming to Strathmore this weekend.
ZEEBS Battle of Technicians will attend Zegil Automotive & Transmission's fifth annual car show, which will take place on Saturday (July 5) at the Strathmore Ag Grounds.
ZEEBS has been hosting technician battles for over 25 years.
"Not many people have seen an engine fully apart, let alone seeing what it is in parts and watching them get put back together to watch it run," said Zane Southgate, owner of ZEEBS.
There are currently two teams taking part in Saturday's competition, with ZEEBS looking for more technicians to take part.
"Any spectator who watched it and wants to try it can get in touch," said Southgate, adding that competitors will need to prove their engine-building abilities through a practice run before being permitted to participate in the competition.
According to Southgate, teams can usually put together the engine in around ten minutes.
"We have one team out of Airdrie that we've been trying to get some practice sessions in, and they're going to make their way out to Strathmore."
The Zegil Automotive & Transmission car show is done in partnership with Pure Country Meats.
