Sunshine, laughter and a strong sense of community filled the air as Kindersley residents gathered to celebrate Canada Day with a full slate of activities.
The Kindersley Museum was the heart of the morning festivities, hosting a pancake breakfast and serving cake, which was cut by Mayor Rod Perkins and Retta Thompson, a long-time resident who celebrated her 100th birthday this summer. A flag ceremony with the local Legion also took place at the museum.
Before heading off for afternoon fun, visitors had the chance to explore the museum’s displays and enjoy a petting zoo that featured sheep, turkeys, baby chicks and kittens.
Festivities continued at Rotary Park, where families enjoyed bouncy castles, games and water activities. The Kindersley Fire Department provided a crowd favourite, fire hose water games, a dunk tank and a slip-n-slide that offered welcome relief from the summer heat.
Live music played throughout the afternoon from the main stage, while kids lined up for face painting and inflatable games including bumper ball matches and dinosaur costume races.
The day wrapped up with a fireworks display at the baseball diamonds behind West Road, lighting up the sky in celebration.
