The provincial government reported there were 109 people in hospital in Saskatchewan receiving treatment for COVID-19. The number is a sharp drop from where it was October when 2,377 people were in hospital receiving treatment. It is also the fewest people in the hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19 since October of 2020.

Here in the southeast corner of the province, there is just one person who is in hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19. This is the lowest number of people hospitalized from COVID-19 in the region since June when no one was hospitalized.

Over the course of the weekend, it was reported there were 114 new cases of COVID-19 across the whole province, with 11 of those cases in the southeast. Combined with 212 recoveries, the number of active cases fell to 612. There are 82 active cases in the southeast, and 18 active cases in the Weyburn area.

Vaccinations continued as well, with the province reporting 3,396 total vaccinations administered. As of Sunday, 79 percent of the province’s total population had received at least their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 71.7 percent were fully vaccinated against COVID-19. In the southeast, 65.4 percent of the total population is fully vaccinated, the second-lowest rate of vaccination in the province outside of the far north.
