There will be a slow start to the weekend this week, with only a few events. The first weekend of July will be relaxing for some, while go-kart enthusiasts get ramped up for races.
Here’s where we’ll be:
St Labre 200- Friday, July 4th – Saturday, July 5th
St. Labre 200 is ramping up this weekend as go-kart racers gather to build their karts on Friday and race day begins on Saturday. Build day kicks off at 8 am with a canteen breakfast, and includes the build-off, alumni madness, and a party ending the day at 11 pm. Race day brings an excavator rodeo, races, and fireworks at dusk.
Buffalo Point Days – Friday, July 4th- Sunday, July 13th
Buffalo Point is hosting 10 days of activities for its 10-year anniversary. This event includes pontoon rides, golf, pickleball, a family fun day, show and shine, fireworks, and so much more! We will be at Buffalo Point in the Celebrate Summer Jeep on Saturday the 12th! Check out a full schedule:

Other Events:
Old Tom Backyard Race- Saturday, June 5th
The Old Tom Backyard event includes 75 people running a 4.167 mile loop every hour until racers drop out. The last person standing is the winner. This event often goes through the night, causing racers to take multiple short naps before heading back to the starting line. The event begins at 8 am on Saturday and goes until 74 people drop out! The race takes place at Old Tom Backyard farm in Blumenort.
Niverville Force SC game- Thursday, June 3rd
Niverville Force SC is having a home game in Hespeler Park B at 7:30. Head over to Niverville to see some sports today.
MHV local authors night- Monday, July 7th
The Mennonite Heritage Village is hosting a local authors' night from 7-9 pm on Monday. This will feature three authors, Jane Hebdon, Bill Massey, and Suzanne Funk. This event allows you to meet authors who will be sharing their experiences living and working in southeast Manitoba.
Dairy Queen Celebrate Summer is scooting through the Southeast in the Dairy Queen Celebrate Summer Jeep.
We will be at tons of fairs, festivals, and functions this summer, so make sure to follow us and scan the QR code on the side of the jeep for a chance to win some amazing weekly prizes!
