The Moose Jaw Miller Express dropped an 8-7 extra-innings decision to the Saskatoon Berries on Wednesday night in Saskatoon.
The Berries opened up a 5-1 lead after four innings. Moose Jaw scored in the top of the fourth when Jackson Yeager hit a single to bring Austin Gurney home.
The Miller Express then took the lead with a five-run fifth inning. Gustavo Soto scored on a passed ball, followed by Gurney singling to score Thomas Soto and Ben Waliczek. Eduardo Saenz doubled to bring home William Edwards and Gurney, giving Moose Jaw a 6-5 advantage.
The Miller Express extended their lead to two in the top of the eighth when Gustavo Soto scored on an error by Saskatoon’s third baseman.
The Berries tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the ninth to send it to extra innings.
After holding Moose Jaw scoreless in the top of the 10th, Saskatoon's Evan Janner drove in Mason Roell from second base for the walk-off win.
The Miller Express return to action Thursday night when they travel to Regina to face the Red Sox. First pitch is at 7 p.m. at Currie Field.
