A 15-year-old youth has been arrested and charged for homicide of another female.
On June 30 at approximately 11:50 p.m., RCMP received a report of a stabbing near Manitoba Avenue in Selkirk.
A 15-year-old suspect from Gimli is believed not to be known to the 39-year-old female victim.
“It is shocking that a 15-year-old has been arrested for homicide, and very tragic that the female has died as a result of her injuries,” stated Sgt. Laura LeDrew of the Manitoba Major Crime Services in a news release. “The RCMP is working diligently to provide necessary support to all involved, and we extend our condolences to the family and friends of the victim. We are grateful and thank the community for their assistance, as we continue with the investigation.”
