Woman sent to hospital after youth assault in Chestermere

Chestermere RCMP arrested two youths after an assault on a woman on Canada Day.

Police responded to reports of an adult female being assaulted by a group of youths at John Peake Memorial Park on the evening of July 1.

"RCMP members attended and, through an investigation, arrested two young offenders," wrote Chestermere police.

"One was charged with assault and uttering threats, and the other was charged with one count of assault."

The victim was taken to hospital due to her injuries.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and there may be other victims. Chestermere RCMP ask that anyone who witnessed the incident to reach out by calling 403-204-8900.
