Cochrane RCMP have laid additional charges against a former Springbank Community High School teacher following an ongoing investigation that began in January.
On July 8, 2025, Timothy Bailey (49), a resident of Calgary, was arrested and charged with the following:

Accessing Child Pornography

Possession of Child Pornography
“Bailey was held for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and was released on conditions for Alberta Court of Justice in Cochrane on Sept. 9, 2025,” Cochrane RCMP stated in a Wednesday update. “Bailey is no longer a teacher at Rocky View Schools.”
On Jan. 21, 2025, Cochrane RCMP initiated an investigation into the conduct of a teacher from Springbank Community High School after a female student reported inappropriate behaviour.
Cochrane RCMP continued their investigation, with assistance from the Southern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation Unit.

On that same day, Cochrane RCMP arrested Bailey. He had been charged with the following offences:

Child luring
-
Making sexually explicit material available to a child

Sexual exploitation
“After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Bailey was released on conditions and will appear in Alberta Court of Justice on Feb. 18, 2025, in Cochrane. At the time of his arrest, Bailey was a teacher at Springbank High School,” a previous news release from police stated.
