Thirteen-year-old Airdrie country music star Hayley Isabel has concluded her busy week at the Calgary Stampede.

From performing the national anthem to singing her songs on plenty of stages, she shared that this will be a stampede she won't forget.

"I was also playing on the west stage in the BMO Centre. It's a great stage that I look forward to playing every year."

Wednesday night was her final night at the Stampede, and she shared that she was able to enjoy the festivities and won a large stuffed animal from one of the games.

At the beginning of the week, CF Chinook Centre in Calgary held a pancake breakfast, hoping to break the  Guinness World Record for most pancakes served in 8 hours, and they did just that, serving a total of 26,994 pancakes.

The 65th annual Stampede Pancake Breakfast drew more than 25,000 people to the east parking lot between Chapters and Yeti. Isabel, named Emerging Artist at the 2024 Airdrie Mayor’s Night of the Arts, performed alongside Madeline Merlo, Tony Stevens and Nolan Compton.

"As a night owl and not an early bird, I was quite surprised at all the people who were there at 7 am, but they had great pancakes, and it was a great event that they had."

Proceeds supported the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.

She concluded by saying she is already looking forward to next Stampede as she looks forward to this week more than Christmas.
