The Western Development Museum in Moose Jaw is set to transform into a paradise for the imaginative creator types (and those who enjoy the artistic results), as Brickspo 2025 returns for its 14th year on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27, running 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
Organized in partnership with the Saskatchewan LEGO Users Group, Brickspo is one of the museum’s largest annual events and draws about 3,000 visitors over the weekend.
“Everything on display is a custom build,” said Alexis Jones, programs and volunteer coordinator at the WDM. “It’s really all about creativity — exhibitors show off original work, not store-bought kits. You’ll see everything from science-fiction and medieval scenes to celebrity portraits and pop culture builds.”
Throughout the museum, LEGO enthusiasts of all ages can enjoy a range of activities, including exhibitor challenges, Wacky Races in the Railway Gallery, and short Brick Talks where builders share their creative process.
Food will be available outdoors from three vendors:
- The Optimist Club grilling up burgers and hot dogs
- Deja Vu Café on-site food truck serving chicken wings and deep-fried pickles
- The Cone Artist ice cream truck
Visitors can also browse a LEGO yard sale both days from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Admission is single-day only, and the WDM’s Canada Strong Pass summer discount applies:
- Free entry for ages 17 and under
- Half-price for visitors aged 18–24
Two tills will be open at the entrance — one accepting all payment types, one cash-only for faster service.
Inside, families can also participate in an online Seek-and-Find game, with this year’s theme centered around the 1980s. Visitors search for themed LEGO builds hidden throughout the museum for a chance to win a daily prize of a $25 Deja Vu gift card and LEGO set.
“It’s a fun way to explore every gallery,” Jones said. "So, you're going to look for different '80s builds throughout the museum, and then write the names of those builds. Once you complete your seek-and-find, you'll be entered in a draw at the end of each day. There's one on Saturday and one on Sunday, and the winner will get a $25 Deja Vu gift card and a Lego set."
A major prize draw is also in play thanks to a partnership with Deja Vu Café. Anyone who dines at Deja Vu between July 1–27 and attends Brickspo can enter to win a LEGO Avengers Tower set. Entries work two ways: visitors can bring a Deja Vu receipt to Brickspo or show proof of Brickspo attendance at Deja Vu. Food truck purchases are excluded, and the winner will be drawn on July 28.
Visitors should note that purchased food and drink must be consumed outdoors, but water stations will be set up throughout the museum — attendees are encouraged to bring water bottles.
“What makes Brickspo so special is that it’s both a show and a chance to talk to the builders,” Jones said. “The exhibitors love answering questions. Many of them will supervise their own builds all weekend — they’re easy to spot with their name tags and event shirts.”
Exhibits range from small, detailed scenes to towering structures as tall as an adult, ensuring something for LEGO lovers of every age and interest.
