The Morden Corn and Apple Festival is introducing a brand-new 50/50 raffle to support its free, family-friendly weekend, and it’s live now and open to Manitoba residents aged 18 and up.
Festival chair Nathan Knight says the raffle is one more way to help cover rising costs while keeping the event accessible.
Getting tickets
Ticket sales began on July 1 and will continue right up until the festival’s final day on Sunday, August 24, where the winning ticket will be drawn during the afternoon.
Tickets can be purchased online through the festival website or in person at the Corn and Apple office on Stephen Street during office hours.
“We make it very simple for people to buy tickets,” Knight said.
Ticket pricing starts at $10 for three entries and goes up to $100 for 100 entries. Knight suggested that to get the most out of their money, people consider pooling money with friends.
“If you go in with a group… all of a sudden you only pay 25 bucks. That’s a great idea,” he noted.

Why fundraise for the Corn and Apple
The raffle comes at a time when the festival’s operating costs have gone up by approximately $100,000 since 2019.
“That’s not just things like buying all the corn. That’s things like throwing out the garbage... 80,000 people make a lot of garbage,” Knight explained.
“We are trying incredibly hard to keep — the free stuff we’ve always had — to keep that free for years to come,” he added.
Participants don’t have to be present at the draw to win, as the winning numbers will be posted online.
“You’ll have ample time to check the website to check your numbers. You don’t have to stand there and wait for the number to be called,” Knight assured.
