The County of Grande Prairie is advising residents that a water main and curb stop replacement project will begin in the Hamlet of Bezanson on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. The work is expected to take approximately five weeks to complete.

Council committed $1.2 million to replace the aging water main and curb stops – the valves that connect homes to the main water line – to ensure the continued reliability and safety of Bezanson’s water system.

The project will include excavation, water pipe and curb stop installation, water service reconnections, and surface repairs. Work will take place on and around 103 Street east to 100 Street, and 100 Avenue south to 98 Street. Residents will see excavation equipment and workers performing groundwork in these areas and around or within property lines. Work will be conducted from Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Residents are asked to not to park near where work is taking place, use caution around construction zones, and follow any posted signage.

No interruptions to water service are expected during the first two weeks of construction. However, once work nears completion, brief service interruptions will be required as households are connected to the new system. These interruptions are expected to last between 2 to 4 hours during the day. The contractor will deliver letters to affected homes the day before any water service interruption is scheduled.
