The Weyburn Police Service responded to 86 calls for service in the week of June 30th to July 7th. Of these calls, 12 pertained to mental health and wellbeing checks. Two of these matters resulted in people being transported to Weyburn General Hospital for further care.

On June 30th, officers responded to reports of multiple thefts from backyards, sheds, and even vehicles. While the investigation is ongoing, the WPS asks anyone with reports of a similar incident to contact them, as they may be connected.

Early in the morning on July 1st, a report of an intoxicated man causing a disturbance at a residence was made to the WPS. He was taken into custody and was released once sober.

On July 3rd, a local dealership reported a broken lock on one of their compounds and a vehicle stolen. An extensive investigation ensured including the obtaining of video surveillance from a business in Rouleau. Assisted by the Moose Jaw Police Service a male and female suspect were identified and later arrested by the Carnduff RCMP after locating the vehicle based off of an issued BOLO (be on the lookout). The suspects appeared in court on Monday.

Earlier on July 3rd, a vehicle was stolen from a local repair shop and was found behind the dealership. An investigation is ongoing determining whether the incidents are connected.

On July 4th, the WPS were called to the Weyburn Fair after a man assaulted another man. The suspect was arrested without incident and released with conditions.
