Heavy rain is coming to Strathmore.

Environment Canada (EC) issued a Rainfall Warning for Wheatland County, including near Lyalta and Carseland, on Monday (July 14).

"Heavy rain has developed near Calgary and will expand towards Pincher Creek this morning. Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 80 millimetres are expected," wrote EC.

The rain is expected to taper off in Calgary on Monday evening, while Pincher Creek is expected to see the rain end on Tuesday morning.

"Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible," added EC. "Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts."
