The Southern Alberta RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU) arrested a suspect who was unlawfully at large after defeating her court-ordered electronic monitoring device on July 10.
Chaylee Eagle Plume Bruised Head, a 36-year-old resident of Blood Tribe First Nation, was arrested in May for her involvement in a theft network in Southern Alberta.
The investigation first began in April, following a series of commercial break and enters in the region.
The suspects used stolen vehicles to target businesses, stole bikes in Banff, and targeted homes in Chestermere with open garages and unlocked vehicles.
Eagle Plume Bruised Head was on bail awaiting a court date for 32 charges out of Okotoks, Turner Valley, Cochrane, Strathmore, Chestermere, Canmore, and Calgary.
A warrant was issued for her arrest. She was found at a residence in Lethbridge by SAD CRU and is now facing two further charges of failure to comply with her release order.
After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, she was remanded into custody with her next court appearance scheduled for today (July 14).
