The Moose Jaw Miller Express picked up a split over the weekend, defeating the Medicine Hat Mavericks 6–4 on Saturday before falling to the Regina Red Sox 9–7 on Sunday afternoon. 

On Saturday, the Miller Express earned a road win over the Mavericks. 

Medicine Hat scored a single run in the first inning to take the early lead, but Robert Estrada scored off a Tanner DeGrazia single to right field in the top of the second to tie the game. 

The Mavericks went ahead 2–1 after the third inning. However, the Miller Express responded with two runs in the top of the fourth to take a 3–2 lead. DeGrazia scored when Ben Waliczek singled to right field, and Evan Deringer also scored on the play after an error by the right fielder. Medicine Hat answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning to once again tie the game. 

Moose Jaw regained the lead in the top of the fifth inning, when Eduardo Saenz hit a solo home run to make it 4–3. 

After scoreless sixth and seventh innings, Medicine Hat tied the game with a single run in the bottom of the eighth. 

In the top of the ninth, Thomas Soto and DeGrazia scored off an error by the shortstop, and the Miller Express held the Mavericks off the scoresheet in the bottom half of the inning to secure the win. 

The Miller Express wrapped up the weekend in Regina, where they fell 9–7 to the Red Sox. 

Regina took a 2–0 lead after the first two innings, but DeGrazia hit a two-run homer in the top of the third to tie the game. 

Moose Jaw surrendered four runs in the bottom of the fifth to fall behind 6–2. The Miller Express then mounted a comeback with a five-run seventh inning. Soto singled to centre field to drive in Waliczek, and Saenz hit a sacrifice fly to bring in Soto. Estrada followed with a single to centre field to score William Edwards. Gustavo Soto added a sacrifice grounder to score Estrada, and Austin Gurney came home on an error to make it 7–6. 

Regina responded with three runs in the bottom of the seventh to regain the lead 9–7, and Moose Jaw was unable to score in the final two innings. 

The Miller Express return to action Tuesday when they host the Weyburn Beavers at 7:05 p.m. at Ross Wells Park.
