A 69-year-old man was arrested and charged following an operation by the Moose Jaw Police Service on Monday afternoon.
Police received a report at about 12:20 p.m. that the man was missing and was last seen at 7:30 a.m. that morning.
The man was located in a parked vehicle about three kilometres west of Moose Jaw on Highway 1.
When police arrived, the man exited the vehicle and was in possession of a firearm.
The man was arrested with the assistance of the Moose Jaw Police Service’s crisis negotiators, tactical response team and the Saskatchewan RCMP emergency response team. The police operation closed a portion of Highway 1 on Monday.
No injuries were reported as a result of the police operation.
The man has been charged with several firearm-related offences and will make his first appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court at a later date.
Police say they will not be providing any additional details at this time.
