The Moose Jaw Miller Express dropped a 5-4 decision in extra innings to the Weyburn Beavers on Tuesday night at Ross Wells Park.
After three scoreless innings, Moose Jaw opened the scoring in the bottom of the fourth when Eduardo Saenz hit a solo home run to make it 1-0.
Weyburn took the lead with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth. Moose Jaw answered in the bottom half when Austin Gurney grounded into a double play, allowing Ben Waliczek to score and tie the game.
The Beavers went up 4-2 after eight innings.
Down to their final out in the ninth, Andy Rivas hit his first home run of the season, a two-run shot that tied the game 4-4 and forced extras.
In the top of the 10th, Noah Brooks singled to score Robert Gurney with what proved to be the winning run. Moose Jaw was held off the scoresheet in the bottom half.
The loss drops the Miller Express to 16-22. They remain in fourth place in the East Division, five and a half games back of Regina for third and six and a half ahead of fifth-place Weyburn.
Moose Jaw is back in action tonight when they host the Medicine Hat Mavericks at Ross Wells Park. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.
