Strathmore and area once again under Special Air Quality Statement

A Special Air Quality Statement is in effect. 

Environment Canada issued the advisory for Wheatland County near Strathmore, Lyalta, and Carseland on Wednesday (July 16). 

Smoke is expected to reduce visibility and lead to poor air quality. It may also cause symptoms such as throat, nose, and eye irritation. 

Environment Canada recommends that residents of the affected areas reschedule outdoor activities and limit time spent outside. 

Conditions are expected to improve later in the day.
