Estevan’s most anticipated summer event is back — and it’s taking over downtown this weekend.
The Downtown Street Dance makes its triumphant return to 4th Street on Saturday, July 19, and organizers are promising a night packed with energy, music, and community spirit. With live performances, local talent, and a cause worth celebrating, this event is more than just a night out — it’s a celebration of what makes Estevan shine.
Robert Godfrey of Lemon Wedge Marketing, who also serves on the Downtown Business Association, says the team is beyond thrilled to bring the party back where it belongs.
“It's a busy time, but it's an exciting one because as you mentioned, we are back and just days away from the biggest party of the year,” Godfrey said. “And it's back on 4th St. The street dance is once again a dance on the street. So we are just getting ready for a really great time this Saturday.”
A Stage Full of Saskatchewan Talent
This year’s headliner is Brayden King, a rising star from Weyburn, Saskatchewan, whose appearance on American Idol turned heads across the country. He also just came back from performing on the Main Stage at Country Thunder Saskatchewan in Craven.
“Brayden King from Weyburn, Saskatchewan, appeared on American Idol. And wow, he puts on one heck of a show, and we're excited to have that show on our stage this year. It's going to be a fun night.”
Opening the evening will be The Sad Dads, a beloved local cover band known for their high-energy sets and crowd-pleasing favorites.
“This is a group, a local cover band, and they put on a wicked show and we could not think of a better way to welcome Brayden to the stage,” Godfrey added. “We’ve got two bands on the stage for everyone coming out this year and you're guaranteed that you're going to have a good time.”

All for a Good Cause
While the night is packed with entertainment, the Street Dance also serves a deeper purpose: raising funds to keep Estevan’s downtown vibrant and active year-round.
“This street dance acts as the main fundraiser for the Downtown Business Association,” said Godfrey. “It allows us to do things like our Miracle on 4th Street Christmas Festival, our Street Fair, and it also allows us to invest in our downtown core… whether that be promotions to get people shopping downtown or through making donations to areas like the garden on 4th St.”
