The Moose Jaw Miller Express scored 11 unanswered runs in an 11-2 win over the Medicine Hat Mavericks on Wednesday night.
Medicine Hat jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first inning.
After a scoreless second, Moose Jaw replied with five runs in the third. Thomas Soto and Ben Waliczek scored off an Austin Gurney single. William Edwards scored the third run on a Robert Estrada sacrifice fly. Tanner DeGrazia singled to score Gurney, and Eduardo Saenz crossed home plate on a wild pitch.
Moose Jaw added four more runs in the fourth inning. Soto singled to drive in Pacey Phillips. Edwards hit a sacrifice ground out to score Waliczek. Soto then scored on a single by Gurney, and Saenz singled to bring home Gurney.
The Miller Express added another run in the fifth when Soto doubled to score Waliczek.
Moose Jaw rounded out the scoring in the bottom of the sixth when Waliczek hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score DeGrazia.
The Miller Express will look to make it two in a row when they host the Mavericks tonight at 7:05 p.m. at Ross Wells Park.
