The Humboldt Golf Club hosted Golf Saskatchewan amateurs last week Tuesday through Friday. A few tournaments were in play, both the women's and men's mid-am, and amateur events.

Kyle native Chloe Wills played well to become the 2025 Saskatchewan Women's Amateur golf champion. The leader after all three rounds, it was still a tight finish as Wills beat Ella Kozak of Yorkton by one shot to claim the championship, adding to the U17 and U15 titles already on the young golfer's resume.

A few local players were in the mid-amateur men's tournament. Former Unity resident Justin Wood improved each day, shooting a final round 72 to jump four spots and finish eighteenth. It was the opposite tournament for Kindersley's Kyle Wiebe, who opened with a 71, but trailed off Wednesday and Thursday to drop down the standings and finish in the #12 spot.

Swift Current's Corey Bailey won the tournament after finishing with a +2 to beat Humboldt's Paul Raycroft by two shots. Bailey also finished the Men's Amateur in second place, unable to take the lead after entering the final day in second trailing Regina's Luke Cote, the eventual champion.

A few of these players will be teeing it up at national tournaments following strong performances. Next up for Golf Saskatchewan competition is the senior championships next weekend taking place at Chinook Golf Course in Swift Current.
