People who were in Regina last week at a couple specific sites may face an increased risk of contracting measles, cautions the Saskatchewan Health Authority with a public alert following a confirmed measles case.

Those in attendance at the following locations are advised to monitor for measles symptoms for up to 22 days after exposure.

  • Dad’s Organic Market (425 Victoria Avenue East, Regina): Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

  • Home Depot (1867 Victoria Avenue East, Regina): Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The alert advises individuals to contact HealthLine 811 if exposure has occurred and if you're are unvaccinated, unsure of your vaccination status, or develop measles symptoms.

Anyone potentially exposed may be eligible for preventative treatment for up to six days after exposure if they are unvaccinated, pregnant, under one year of age or immune suppressed. Do not attend a clinic in person if you are symptomatic. Call HealthLine 811 for information and instructions.

The SHA advises If you are in medical distress, do not delay seeking care. However, please call BEFORE entering the emergency department, or if calling 911, and inform the health care team that you may have been exposed to measles so proper precautions can be put in place to minimize spread.

Measles is highly contagious. It can spread very easily to others through the air.  The virus can live up to two hours in the air or on surfaces in a space where a person coughed or sneezed. It can spread from four days before a rash appears until four days after a rash develops. Through this period, a person needs to stay in strict isolation to avoid spreading the infection to others.
